Clinical waste and sharp bin collection is provided by Torbay Council through TOR2.
These present a high risk to personnel handling the waste and must be contained within a purpose made rigid ‘sharps’ container or yellow clinical bag for other clinical waste.
These must be collected separately to regular household waste and disposed of by incineration.
To request a confidential clinical collection from your household please telephone us on 01803 701316.
Please note:
Sharps collections are made on a Monday. Requests taken before noon Thursday will be collected the following Monday. Afternoon Thursday, collections will be made the Monday after. Bank Holiday Mondays are not affected, and these will continue as normal.
Yellow clincial bags are collected Tuesday to Thursday.
Residents are able to request replacement or additional clinical or sharps container. Following a request containers take 5 working days to be delivered.
In all cases waste containers are for collection of household waste materials by TOR2 only and should not be requested for any other purpose.
If you requested a new conainer over 5 working days ago and it has not yet been delivered please call the Contact Centre on 01803 701316 to report this.
