Prescriptions

All patients except the more vulnerable i.e. those in care homes or that receive ‘blister packs’, need to order their repeat medication from the surgery rather than via a pharmacy. Letters explaining this were sent to appropriate patients when this was introduced. See letter here.

The easiest way to do this is on-line. You may register to request repeat prescriptions on-line using the Patient Access  or the NHS App. Alternatively, you can send an email to our Prescriptions team. L83111.prescriptions@nhs.net

Please write your name, your Date of Birth, and the repeat medications that you are requesting.

Please allow two working days discounting Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays before collection.  No prescriptions are dealt with at weekends.

From time to time we will ask you to see your Doctor to review your medication.  We do this to monitor your conditions and medication.

We have a dedicated prescription line which may be accessed via the main surgery telephone number 01803 316333 then selecting option 2. The line is open between the hours of 9.30 am – 12.00 pm, Monday to Friday.

When attending hospital always take with you details of your current medication.

ORDERING OF MEDICATION – IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Please notify the surgery of any items included in your repeat order slip that you no longer use and we will be able to remove them from your record.
• Please do not tick items on your repeat request slip until you are nearing the end of the last pack of that particular item.  This will avoid stockpiling of medication.  If possible, please try to arrange your repeat prescription requests so that they are ordered only once a month.
• Please consider that medicines over-ordered on repeat prescriptions and stockpiled in your home can cause another patient’s treatment in the NHS to be delayed due to financial pressures.
