New Member of the Team

We are delighted that Dr Sue Binning will be joining us from 24th June. She will be working on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and generally based at the Chatto site. 

COVID-19 NOTICE

Please note you may receive telephone calls from numbers you do not recognise.  This is because we have nurses working from home and using their own telephones.

We kindly ask that patients wear a mask or face covering if possible when attending the surgery.

If you have had recent contact with someone with COVID-19 OR a new continuous cough OR fever OR loss of/change in smell or taste:

Please DO NOT ENTER THE SURGERY!

Instead stay at home (self-isolate) for 7 days from the onset of symptoms if you live alone.  If you live with others, and you are the first in the household to have symptoms of coronavirus, then you must stay at home for 7 days, but all other household members who remain well must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. The 14-day period starts from the day when the first person in the house became ill.

For anyone else in the household who starts displaying symptoms, they need to stay at home for 7 days from when the symptoms appeared, regardless of what day they are on in the original 14 day isolation period.

If you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home, or your condition gets worse, or your symptoms do not get better after 7 days, then use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service. If you do not have internet access, call NHS 111. For a medical emergency dial 999.

We expect to be extremely busy and short staffed over the coming months, and we would ask for your tolerance and understanding at this difficult time. If possible please keep contact with the surgery to a minimum to help us to provide care as efficiently as we can, and consider other sources of advice before contacting us.

The NHS website www.nhs.uk provides advice on conditions and illness care, including coronavirus advice. If you are isolating because of coronavirus and require a Fit note for your employer you should not contact the GP surgery but can obtain a note online at 111.nhs.uk/isolation-note . For children under 5, please consider downloading the Handi (H A N D I) Paediatric App for advice on home assessment and management of illnesses such as diarrhoea and vomiting, high temperature, chestiness, newborn problems and tummy pain.

Important News Regarding New Registrations

Chilcote Surgery regrets that it is not at present able to register NHS Patients.

This decision has been taken in order to ensure the practice can continue to safely provide NHS services to its currently registered patients.

We will continue to register new-born or adopted babies of parents already registered at the practice. We will also continue to register first-degree relatives of patients already registered at the practice who are living at the same address.

The practice is not able to maintain a waiting list of patients who would like to register in the future.

Once Chilcote Surgery is able to commence accepting NHS registrations, this information will be available at reception and on the practice website.

If you are not currently registered with an NHS General Practitioner locally, we would urge you to register at another local surgery as soon as possible.  If you urgently need to see a doctor or a nurse, you can attend the Newton Abbot Community hospital, Totnes hospital or Torbay hospital.

Repeat Prescription Requests

Dear Patients

We are experiencing a high number of prescription requests currently and may not be able to provide these within our usual 2 working day turnaround time.  We will do our utmost to process prescriptions as soon as we can but would ask you to bear with us if it is taking us a little longer.

Please note we are currently not accepting any written repeat prescription requests to reduce the risk of virus spread.
