The Carers’ Support Worker is based at the surgery on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between the hours of 9.30 am and 5.30 pm, to help carers obtain the help and information they need, and set up additional local support opportunities, such as Time Out Carers’ Afternoons, based on her knowledge and experience of our carers’ needs.
If you are a carer of any age, and are looking after a relative or friend and need advice and support, please contact Amanda on 01803 316333 to make an appointment.
CHILCOTE CARE PATIENT SUPPORT GROUP
Chilcote Care Patient Support Group evolved from Chatto Carers' Patient Participation Group, which was set up in 1998 before the merger of Chatto Road Surgery and Dewerstone Surgery to form the Chilcote Practice in 2002. The group is managed by a co-ordinator and committee who meet nearly every month. An Annual General Meeting is held in May, which all patients are welcome to attend. Details can be found on the waiting room noticeboards nearer the time.
Over recent years the group have raised funds to provide various items of equipment for the surgery, including an ECG machine and two defibrillators, plus numerous other smaller items.
The group hold an Annual Grand Draw, and also have at least one Quiz Night every year.
They provide transport to and from the surgery, hospitals and other external clinics for patients who have no other means of transport. Their favourable charges can be found on the Chilcote noticeboards in the waiting rooms. They can also provide a limited befriending service.
