Chilcote Surgery Telephone Number

If you are aged 13-24 years old you may not be aware of the services that are available to you through your GP surgery.  We are here to help you with all of your medical problems, either directly with one of our Doctors, or indirectly by referring you to a specialist.

How to Access Us

Telephone the practice on 01803 316333 or register to use our online appointment booking facility.  Local bus services with bus stops near to the practice include the numbers 32 and 34 (Dewerstone Practice) and the number 31 (Chatto Practice).

What will happen when you access us

A Doctor will telephone you to arrange an appointment for you to come in to the surgery or will conduct a telephone consultation if you prefer and they feel that it is appropriate.

How are we linked to other services?

We will do all that we can to help, but if we need to refer you to another service we can do that for you.

How to access other services and get an appropriate onward referral

If you know the service that you wish to be referred to then feel free to discuss this with the Doctor.  If it is appropriate we will be happy to do so.

Contraception and Sexual Health

If you need emergency contraception then please don’t be embarrassed – if you tell the receptionist then they will ask the Doctor to phone you or see you and arrange for you to have a prescription within a few hours.  We get lots of requests for emergency contraception.

If you are worried about sexually transmitted infections then we have lots of free leaflets available – you can either see the Doctor or Nurse (you can see a female Doctor if you prefer although we don’t have any male Nurses).  If you don’t want to see a member of our team here then we can give you the contact details of other agencies that can help.

You have the right to confidential advice. Please feel free to ask a member of staff if you have any worries about what you might choose to say to us. We want to help.

All the staff at this practice have to be discreet about your presence here and respect your privacy. You can be sure that anything you discuss will stay confidential, even if you are under 16. We will not say anything to anyone, including a member of your family, care workers or teachers, without your permission.
The only reason we might have to consider passing on confidential information you have shared with us without your permission would be to protect you or someone else from serious harm and we would always try to discuss this with you first.

Come and have a chat.

 c card

The Torbay C-Card is a service offering free condoms, lubricant and sexual health information. It is available to young people age 13 up to their 25th birthday who live in Torbay.

You will not be judged and the workers are there to support you and provide you with sexual health information.
The C-Card worker will ask you a few questions for their records, but will explain this process to you. Confidentiality will be explained to you as well.
To join the C-Card all you have to do is visit one of the places displaying the C-Card sign.
You will be given information about safer and more effective use of condoms including advice on any problems like condoms splitting, or not using one and then be given some general information on sexual health.
The service is confidential. This means that what you say will be kept private, unless the worker is concerned that you or someone else is at risk of significant harm.
C-Card offers a range of condoms in different shapes, sizes and flavours - so try out a few and see which suits you best.

Always use a condom. Used correctly condoms can protect from sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancy. However, if it bursts and you are worried about the risk of infection or pregnancy then help is at hand:
